Appeal from an order of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court in the Second Judicial Department, entered July 18, 1977,
which (1) reversed, on the law, a judgment of the Supreme Court (Leonard Rubenfeld, J.), entered in Westchester County in
a proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78, (a) directing reinstatement of petitioners to their job positions, and (b) adjudging
that their job positions had been abolished in bad faith, and (2) dismissed the proceeding. Petitioners were employed by respondent
county as permanent watchmen assigned to duties at the county medical center. The county also contracted with a private security
firm to provide additional security for the medical center.
